Tsvetan Lazarov was born on February 10, 1962 in Berkovitsa. He graduated from the National High School of Art “Iliya Petrov “ in the class of artist Radoslav Lilov in 1981, specializing in painting and sculpture. He continued his education at the National Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia from 1984 to 1989 with a major in Painting in the class of Prof. Dobri Dobrev. From 1989 until today he works as a freelance artist in the field of painting, sculpture, watercolor and drawing. He has over 30 solo exhibitions in Bulgaria and abroad - in Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Burgas, Husqvarna, Sweden; Antwerp, Belgium; Aarhus, Denmark; Paris, France; Rotterdam, the Netherlands and more. In 1997, after several extremely successful exhibitions, he received a permanent exhibition at the prestigious Smedbin Gallery in Husqvarna, Sweden. In 2010, he won the second prize for the sculpture of the Danube Atelier Symposium in Pöchlarn, Austria. His artworks can be seen in the National Art Gallery, in private and municipal collections in Bulgaria and abroad. He was awarded the prize “Artist of the Decade 2008-2018 of Largo Art Gallery”. He lives and works in Sofia.
