Desislava Mincheva was born in 1956 in Sofia, Bulgaria. She graduated in from the National Academy of Arts in the class of Acad. Svetlin Rusev, majoring in "Painting" (1981). Member of the UBA Executive Bureau. Desislava has had of over 35 solo exhibitions, some of which: Gallery "G. Meyer ”, Paris, France (1992), Titan Gallery, Frankfurt, Germany (1993), City Gallery of Shtip, Macedonia (1995), Teddy Gallery, Varna - a joint exhibition with Kalina Taseva and Yuliy Minchev (2000), Vazrazhdane Gallery, Plovdiv (2003), Rayko Alexiev Gallery, Sofia - "Feeling of Water" - a joint exhibition with Dolores Dilova (2011), etc. She has participated in a number of group exhibitions in the country and abroad, some of which: Participation in the Autumn Salon, Paris, France (1991, 1992), participation in ARTEXPO, New York, USA (2001, 2002), Sofia City Art Gallery- "Ballet"- a joint project with the American Embassy in Sofia (2005). Winner of the Gold Medal for Drawing of the Agaci Foundation, Italy. She is a professor of painting at the National Academy of Arts. She has lectured in Paris, Mexico City, Barcelona, Milan, Xi'an, Hangzhou. Her artworks are in the possession of the National Art Gallery, Sofia City Art Gallery, District Galleries in the country, as well as abroad - France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Great Britain, Macedonia, G Greece, Finland, USA, Mexico, including the collection of Prof. Dr. Peter Ludwig, Aachen, Germany and the collection of Hugo Wooten, Belgium. She lives and works in Sofia.
