Dolores Dilova was born in 1960 in Pleven. She is the daughter of the artist Dilo Dilov - one of the bright representatives of impressionism in Bulgarian art. At the age of seven, she won the Children's Drawing Contest in Italy, with jury chair Henry Moore. Dolores Dilova graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia, majoring in Painting in Professor Ivan Kirkov's class. She has participated in exhibitions in Austria, France, USA, Russia, England, Greece, Italy, Hungary and more. She has had over 20 solo exhibitions in Sofia, Varna, Burgas, Plovdiv, Paris-France, Kansas City-USA, Aosta-Italy, Drama-Greece, Berlin-Germany, Amsterdam-Netherlands, London-United Kingdom, Moscow-Russia, Hangzhou- China and others. Dolores Dilova has won many awards: 1st prize in the Young Painter Competition, 1987; Award in "The Man and the Sea", 1988; Grand Prix of the Union of Bulgarian Artists in the Biennale of the Small Forms, 2008, Grand Prix for painting of the Biennale "Friends of the Sea", Burgas 2014 and others. Her works are owned by National Gallery, City Art Galleries in the country, as well as private galleries and collections in France, England, Italy, Germany, Japan, Israel, USA, Spain, Austria, Switzerland and others. Since 1993 she is the creator and lecturer at the "Jules Pascin" Private Academy of Fine Arts. Since 2011 she is a member of the Board of Directors of the Union of Bulgarian Artists. She lives and works in Sofia.
