Hristo Petrov was born on 04.01.1960 in Varna in the family of a fisherman. His childhood goes by infishing boats, swimming, rowing and modern pentathlon. He graduated from a professional training course for water scooters in Varna, which introduces him to the mystery of the underwater world. He graduated from Shumen University "Episkop Konstantin Preslavski" with painting specialty and works for 8 years as a drawing and painting teacher. The love of art and the sea determine his way of developmentin his artworks. Inspired by the accumulated impressions of distant landscapes and exotic shores, he displays sketches, watercolors, pastels and drawings in various ports. His work covers over 500 scenic paintings where the sea is the main theme. His works recreate seascapes in different seasons and parts of the day, fishing boats and a whole series of majestic sailing yachts. He has 17 solo exhibitions in Varna, Burgas, Shumen, Balchik, Kavarna, Shabla and other 45 exhibitions. His works have been bought from institutions, galleries and private collections in 11 countries. In the first three editions of the contest "Tacein the Sea" (Painting section) there are first prizes in 2013 and 2015 and second prize in 2014.
