Ivan Hristov- Groga

Ivan Hristov - Groga was born in Dumnitsi - the village near Gabrovo on 27.02.1942. He graduated from University of Veliko Tarnovo "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" in 1969. From 1980 to 2006 he was professor of painting at the Fine Arts School in Tryavna. He has participated in over 35 solo and group exhibitions, as well as many workshops in Bulgaria and abroad. The author was awarded the Third Prize for Painting (1999) and the Special Prize for Painting at the Ministry of Culture (2005) of the International Biennial of Humour and Satire, Gabrovo, a prize for painting at the National Exhibition of teachers, Veliko Tarnovo, the Award for painting of Gabrovo (2005 and 2006). Paintings by Ivan Hristov - Groga can be found in galleries and collections in Bulgaria, USA, Greece, Belgium, Switzerland, Belarus and others.
