Lora Yankova Marinova was born on June 1, 1953 in Varna. In 1977 she graduated from the National Academy of Arts in Sofia, with a degree in "Stage design". From 1997 to 2002 she was a successful stage designer and apainter of the Varna Opera. Since 1985 she has been a member of the UBA. Lora Marinova has more than 60 scenographic projects, and for the ballet performance "Anna Karenina" she received the Varna Award as part of the winning team. The daughter of the famous painter Yanko Marinov has won her admirers over the years with her gentle, impressive painting, the clear, brilliant palette and the aesthetic and well-chosen themes in his paintings. Lora regularly participates in International and National joint exhibitions and in 2007 she is also present at the First International Biennial of the Miniature in Ruse. Lora Marinova has two nominations for painting at the prestigious competition "National Awards Allianz Bulgaria" - in 2008 for her painting "Old age" and in 2010 - for the portrait of her father - the artist Yanko Marinov. She is a winner of the prize "Artist of the decade 2008 - 2018) of Largo Gallery. Lora has had three solo exhibitions at Largo Art Gallery, Varna: "Light and Shadow" (2011), "Single Moment" (2015) and "Parallel" - a joint exhibition with Dimitar Borisov (2020). A lot of her paintings are owned by private collectors in Bulgaria, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Germany, the United States and Canada. She lives and works in Varna.
