27 April - 17 May 2022

Opening reception– Wednesday, 27 April 2022, 6:00 PM

From April 27, 2022, for the fifth time Largo Art Gallery will present the exhibition "ExLibris Reload". Traditionally, in these exhibitions we present undisplayed works from the latest edition of the International ExLibris Competition Varna. Works from 210 artists from 38 countries were received for participation in the fourth edition of the competition at the gallery's address in 2021. The honorary jury of the competition had the difficult task to determine the selected winners and to select the works for the exhibition and the catalog of the competition among 574 submitted works. The exhibition with the winners and the selected in the fourth edition of the competition was opened in September 2021. In the current exhibition we will show the other works approved for participation in the competition, which were not included in the catalog or in the exhibition in September. We will see works by world-renowed names such as Jiri Brazda, Shigeki Tomura, Lembit Lohmus, Luigi Casalino, Yolanda Carbajales, Vasil Fenchak, Oleg Naboka, as well as works by younger artists such as Fedor Shurmelev, Marina Zhvirblia and Mikhaylo Drimaylo. Graphic lovers will be see the magic of Bulgarian graphics through some of the works of Kalina Kraleva, Veselin Damyanov-Ves, Maya Tcholakova, Petar Chinovsky and others.

Three beloved Bulgarian artists- Dimitar Karatonev, Rumen Nechev and Hristo Naidenov - also have a special participation in the exhibition. Dimitar Karatonev will present several fabulous graphics dedicated to the small town and the sea. Rumen Nechev, who was a member of the Honorary Jury in the fourth edition of the competition, will participate with seven works made in his special author's technique and on handmade paper. Hristo Naidenov, who is the winner of the first prize in the name of Jordan Petkov in the fourth edition of the biennial, will present 12 graphics dedicated to the twelve zodiac signs. Hristo created the works in 2019, specially at the invitation of a large Chinese gallery.

We look forward to seeing you at the opening reception on Wednesday, April 27, at 6:00 pm at Largo Art Gallery at 8 Han Krum Street, Varna. The exhibition runs until May 17, 2022. You can see more photos on the gallery's website. The exhibition is realized with the financial support of the National Culture Fund.
