Largo Art Gallery starts off 2019 with an exhibition of the young artists from National School of Arts "Dobri Hristov", Varna. This is the tenth consecutive exhibition of the students of the school of arts at Largo Gallery and will traditionally be of a competitive nature. Annually, prizes are awarded and distributed by the school board and sponsors.
In this year’s exhibition-competition in Largo Art Gallery, students from 8th to 12th grade will be presenting their artworks performed in the traditional techniques of pencil, ink, charcoal, chalk, watercolor and oil paintings.
The works will be evaluated in two age categories - first group - 9th and 10th grade students and second group 11th and 12th grades. The jury that will determine the winners includes the famous Varna artists Ventsislav Markov, Dimo Milanov, Milen Marinov and Svetlin Nenov. Each of the groups will be awarded the first prize provided by the School Board of Trustees of the National School of Arts "Dobri Hristov", a second prize provided by the “Krisi Art” Framing and Art Materials Studio and a third prize provided by the chain of restaurants "Gozilla".
The chain of restaurants "Gozilla" is a Bulgarian company which since the first day of its existence has been supporting various noble causes - Karin Dom, International ExLibris Competition Varna and others. "Krisi Art" maintains a shop for frames, paints and art materials for artists from the world's finest producers.
The National School of Arts "Dobri Hristov" was established as a music school in 1944 with specializations - "Classical musical instruments" and "Classical singing". Since 1990 a new major has been revealed - "Classic Dance", and since 1992 - "Fine Arts". Since 2002 the specialties of Bulgarian folk instruments have been discovered, since 2003 - "Bulgarian folk singing", and since 2008 - "Pop and jazz singing". More than 500 students from the 1st to the 12th grade are trained in 26 specialties in 3 profiles: Music (all classical and folk instruments, classical, pop and jazz, folk singing), Dance Arts (Ballet), Fine Arts - exquisite profile. Since January 2004, he has been granted the status of a National School of Arts, which is the first non-capital national school.
