Maria Raytcheva was born in 1977 in Sofia. She graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts in 2002 in the class of academician Svetlin Rusev. In 2008, she received her doctoral degree in art history at the Academy of Fine Arts. In 2011, she won a specialization in Cite des Arts - Paris. She is a member of the SBH, "Painting" section. Raytcheva has 28 solo exhibitions in Sofia, Plovdiv. Sevlievo, Samokov, etc., as well as numerous participations in general exhibitions in Bulgaria and abroad - France, Warsaw, Montenegro, Slovakia, Moldova, Turkey, Hungary, etc. Raycheva is the winner of various awards - 1st prize for painting at the National Exhibition Sliven (2021), Honorary Diploma at the National Exhibition, Pleven (2008, 2014), 1st prize at the National Exhibition "Cityscape", Shumen (2013), 2nd prize in a competition of the International Foundation "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" (2002) and others. Lives and works in Sofia.
