a collective exhibition in HALL 2
17 December 2021 – 17 January 2022
vernissage – Friday, 17 December 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
On December 17 we will say goodbye to 2021 with an extremely magnetic and bright collective exhibition of some of the most beloved contemporary Bulgarian artists working in the field of abstract and expressive painting. In HALL 2 of Largo Art Gallery we will present the artists Albena Koeva, Vasil Stoev, Dimitar Cholakov, Ivan Obretenov, Nikolay Nyagolov, Svetoslava Georgieva, Svetlin Nenov, Stefan Kulev and Christo Christov in a harmonious exhibition called "Abstractions and Light".
Abstraction is a trend in art that not everyone understands and accepts. In Western Europe and overseas for years this genre is among the most preferred by audiences and connoisseurs, while in Bulgaria some viewers still look with distrust on the abstract composition, because they believe that specific shapes and objects are what makes a picture complete, valuable and real. Few people have the knowledge to appreciate how difficult it is to create an abstract work - the skill to create a harmony of colors, to compose well the spots you put on the canvas, to create an understanding between the various embossed strokes that form the different layers of material in the canvas.
In this exhibition we will show how different artists show us pieces of their souls, coded in every layering of paint on the canvases, every scratching of the layer, subtraction and addition of levels. The specifics that viewers usually look for in paintings are, in fact, hidden here among a variety of shapes and tones, swirling in a symbiosis of a variety of painting techniques and techniques. Here every viewer finds something different, everyone feels the vibrations and energies of the paintings individually. Therefore, in most cases, abstract compositions are not something that artists or gallerists can explain in words, because everyone's perception is subjective and no one else can place his interpretations in another's consciousness.
Stefan Kulev will present a series of rich compositions as a little preview of his upcoming solo show at Largo Art Gallery in 2022. Albena Koeva will present to us three chamber paintings in which she poured rich shades of blue and combined them with several specific elements. We will enjoy two of the latest works of Vasil Stoev, full of intricate colors and broken structures. Dimitar Cholakov participates with a new artwork, specially prepared for "Largo". Nikolay Nyagolov delights us with violet and blue shades, white lights and dancing lines in his painting. Connoisseurs will enjoy a small self- portrait of Ivan Obretenov and Svetoslava Georgieva and Christo Christov will complement the exhibition with their exceptional paintings.
The exhibition "Abstractions and Light" will be presented on December 17, 2021 in HALL 2 of the gallery with an opening reception in the form of a vernissage from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. We will be expecting you on Friday at 8 Han Krum Street, Varna to join us to say goodbye to the year 2021 and to celebrate the upcoming 2022! The opening will be carried out in compliance with all current anti-epidemic measures.
